Sound Problems

Sound problems are often the result of misconfigured or missing drivers and codecs on your machine.

The following may resolve "no sound" issues for WinXP

• Make sure the volume on speakers is not turned down too low
  
  
• Ensure the Wave Volume for your computer is not turned down too low. The volume control is available at START -> Control Panel ->Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on Advanced to bring up the Volume control.
  
  
• Make sure your sound card drivers are up to date
  
  
• Install the K-lite Codec Pack, available here and run the Codec tweak tool to fix non-working system sound. The tweak tool is usually found under your Start Menu using the path: Start -> All Programs -> K-lite Codec Pack -> Configuration -> Codec Tweak Tool. Select (Registry) Fix non-working system sound and continue.
